Jee Main 2020 Cutoff Category Wise

CUTOFF FOR JEE MAIN 2020 Category wise

The Jee Main examination was conducted across the country from September 1 to September 6 amid a lot of protests and criticism with all necessary precautions. Around 8.58 lakh students registered for the examination for admission in engineering courses in IIT's, NIT's and Centrally Funded Technical Institutions this year. The official answer key was released by National Testing Agency (NTA) on September 8 on the official website of NTA  https://jeemain.nta.nic.in/webinfo/public/home.aspx .

According to data shared by the Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal 'Nishank', out of the 8.58 lakh registered candidates for JEE Main 2020 in September, 6.35 lakh finally appeared for the exam. This implies that over 2.2 lakh students or over 25% did not write the exams.

The cut off for different categories is calculated on the basis of the difficulty of questions & NTA score obtained by the candidates who have appeared in the exam. Cut-off marks are different for different categories. Cut-off marks depend upon several factors such as exam difficulty level and the number of students who appeared in the examination etc.

The candidate who score marks more than the cut off marks is considered qualified in JEE Main 2020 and they can apply for JEE Advanced 2020 exam. Only qualified candidates are eligible for admission.
